Continuing education

Are you looking to find a job, advance your career, or acquire new skills?

Whether you are an employee, job seeker, craftsman, or self-employed professional, you can do so by returning to school for continuing education.

What training?

All courses offered by the University of Montpellier are available as continuing education.
As with initial training, to access continuing education, you must:

  • Meet the prerequisites for admission to the program or obtain validation of prior learning to be exempted from the normally required diploma;
  • Have been authorized to register, where applicable, in the case of training courses with selection.

It is advisable to inquire about theapplicationprocessas early as March withthe relevant department.

Interns may be mixed with students in initial training, but they may also follow training specifically tailored to their needs: training courses adapted in terms of content or organization.

Validation of prior learning:

Studies, professional experience, and personal achievements may be validated on a case-by-case basis:

  • The VAP (Validation of Professional Experience) allows applicants to be exempted from the prerequisite qualification for admission to the training program.
  • The VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) allows for the awarding of all or part of a degree.

Are you an employee?Your training may be covered:

  • As part of your company's training plan:The Training Plan (actions taken by the company for its employees, whether on its own initiative or not) is financed either by the company from its own funds or by the collecting agency to which it contributes.
  • As part of Individual Training Leave:Individual Training Leave may be financed in whole or in part (training costs and/or remuneration) by the FONGECIF or an approved collecting agency.
    – It may be requested at the initiative of the employee under a permanent contract (having been employed for two years, including one year with the company)
    – At the end of a fixed-term contract (providing proof of 24 months of professional activity over the last five years, including four months on a fixed-term contract, consecutive or otherwise, in the last 12 months).
  • In the context of training time capital:Training time capital is a method of organizing and managing actions that fall within the company's training plan.
  • As part of the Individual Right to Training (DIF)(introduced in early May 2004, capitalizable in early May 2005):The aim of the DIF is to enable all employees to benefit from 20 hours of training per year, which can be accumulated over six years, i.e., 120 hours.
